Alox-coated PET is PET material that has undergone a surface treatment process to apply a thin layer of aluminum oxide or alox (Al2O3) to its surface. This coating is typically done through vacuum deposition, resulting in a transparent, protective layer of alumina on the PET substrate. The alumina coating modifies the surface properties of PET, making it more resistant to oxygen, moisture, and other environmental factors. It can also enhance the printability and adhesion of inks and coatings on the PET surface.

Benefits:
• Film is suitable for reverse printing, lamination, Pasteurization (1000C for 99min) and retort (1210C for 30min) application
• Excellent oxygen and moisture barrier – WVTR and OTR of 1
• Excellent mineral oil barrier
• Excellent clarity

Applications:
  • Packaging of sensitive food products where barrier properties, printability, and resistance to environmental factors are critical considerations.
  • Examples: Cheese, Processed Meat, Snacks, Frozen Food, Baked Goods
